Northview-North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56003 (507) 388-2288 Jerome Iver Bykonen, age 64, of Mankato, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 29 at 12:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:30-12 at Northview. Burial will be at Hebron Cemetery at a later date. Jerome was born on March 6, 1951 in Rolla, N.D. to John and Celia (Siirila) Bykonen. He graduated from Rolla High School and Valley City State University in North Dakota with a degree in accounting. On August 30, 2003, Jerome was united in marriage to Sheila Kelley. He worked for Entegris in Chaska for many years before retirement. Jerome enjoyed camping at the Sakatah Trail Resort, golfing, playing games, and cooking. He loved fishing, especially salmon fishing on Lake Michigan with his son. He was a big sports fan, following the Vikings and Twins. He was known for his great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Bruno. Jerome is survived by his wife, Sheila Kelley; son, Adam; daughter, Nicole (Samuel) Weulander; granddaughters, Sydney and Paris; grandson, Javin; sisters, Connie (Dennis) Olson, Carol (Wayne) Wiken, and Mary (Leo) Tschepen; brother, Jim Bykonen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike (Jen) Kelley, Brad (Anita) Kelley, and Leah (Dan) Hansen; so many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; previously married to, Colleen Geigle Lossing. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Jonathan; two brothers, Marvin and Harland; and one sister, Rosie.
