Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Dr. Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Michael "Mike" Tarpy, age 56, of Mankato, died on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Waseca. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. John Kunz officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Michael was born on March 23, 1959 in Mankato to Jerome and Margaret "Midge" (Morgan) Tarpy. He graduated from Mankato East High School. Mike currently worked for The Caretakers. He was very active in AA and sponsored many people. He touched a lot of people in the AA community. Mike enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandsons. Mike is survived by son, Brock Tarpy; daughter, Leah Tarpy; grandsons, Bentley and Liam; brother, Tony (Patty) Tarpy; and sister, Terrie (Scott) Sauer. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Mason.
