Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Dr. Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Janet Ruth (Yonkey) Marble, age 88, died Monday, June 22, 2015, at Laurel's Peak in Mankato. Funeral service will be 10:30 am, Monday, June 29 at Hilltop United Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Wolf officiating. Visitation will be 3-6 pm Sunday, June 28 at the church. Burial will be in Rice Lake Cemetery in Foster Township, Faribault County, MN. Memorials may be directed to State Services for the Blind, MCHS-Mankato Hospice or donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Janet was born May 17, 1927 to Major and Esther (Courrier) Yonkey in Foster Township. She was baptized, received her Christian education, and confirmed at Rice Lake Evangelical United Brethren Church, rural Wells. Janet graduated from Kiester High School in 1944 and attended Mankato Commercial College. On September 10, 1947, Janet was united in marriage to Dean Stuart Marble at the Rice Lake church. They made their home in the Walters, MN area where they farmed for 18 years. Janet was a farm wife, mother, homemaker and 4-H leader, and she worked as a teller at the First State Bank of Kiester. They moved to the Mankato area where she found employment at Norwest Bank and later at the St. Clair State Bank where she worked until her retirement. Dean and Janet loved to travel and tour homes and visit with friends and family. They wintered in Mesa, AZ, from 1991-2003. In 2012 they moved to Primrose Retirement Community. Janet was a member of the Hilltop United Methodist Church and participated in UMW, Sunday school and Bible study groups. Janet is survived by her daughter, Maurine (Melvin) Rettig of Grand Junction, CO; son, Duane (Janice) Marble of Mankato; five grandchildren, Margo Rettig, Major (Sarah) Rettig, Matthew (Carissa) Rettig, Angela Marble, Kelly (Michael) Vandermuss, three great-grandchildren, Parker Rettig, Archer Vandermuss, and Keturah Rettig; and her sisters, Marian Ahnemann of Albert Lea and Marjorie (Ward) Crago of Gainesville, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean in January 2015; infant son, Timothy in 1955; and brother-in-law, Edgar Ahnemann.
