Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, Minnesota 56001 507-388-2288 Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m, Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. John Kunz, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before mass at church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Project Turnabout, Wounded Warriors Project, or Mankato Salvation Army. Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mark was born November 9, 1939 to Clement and Anastasia (Leonard) Scheurer in Mankato. He attended Ss. Peter and Paul grade school, and graduated from Loyola High School in 1957. After attending St. Thomas University and Mankato State, he entered the National Guard in 1962. Mark and his brother, Dan owned and operated C.W. Scheurer and Sons, a company their father started in 1929. Mark married JoAnn Petersen on August 7, 1971. They were blessed with 3 children, Lori (Travis Groh), Lisa (Don Richards) and Andy (Monica Keim) Scheurer. The joy of his life was his 8 grandchildren, Ariel, Chase, and Nathan Groh; Abbi and Eric Richards; and Lily, Ben, and Allison Scheurer. His favorite pastimes were riding his scooter, flying his ultra-light airplane, kayaking, vacationing with the family, and spending time with many friends in Florida. He always loved working in his work shop, building everything from wood strip canoes and kayaks to rocking horses for the grandkids. After a short hospitalization for heart disease the Lord took him home on June 18, 2015. He is also survived by six siblings, Dan (Sylvia) Scheurer, Paul (Bev) Scheurer, Jane Trondson, Sr. Katherine Scheurer, Sr. Mary Scheurer, and Carolyn (Jim) Rovney. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Anastasia Scheurer; older brother, Bros. Thomas Scheurer; and younger sister, Monica Scheurer.
