Mankato Mortuary 1001 North Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 507-388-2202 Angeline Martha Christina Hauch "You may not always realize it, but we are all gifted gardeners in Christ." Angeline Martha Christina Hauch was one of God's master gardeners; sowing the Earth with love, peace and kindness for over 98 precious years. A celebration of life for Angeline will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at church with burial following the service at Tivoli Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary has been entrusted with final arrangements. Angie (Golberg) Hauch was born May 30, 1917 in Glenham, South Dakota to Alfred and Minnie (Dorgeloh) Golberg on the heels of the Great Depression. These tough times taught Angie to take great pleasure in admiring God's simple gifts. She left her home at the age of 16 to nanny and keep house for the school's superintendent. This taught her the value of receiving an education; which she did by graduating high school as valedictorian. After attending college in Mankato, Angie began working with Stan A. Smith Jewelers as an accountant. It was during a dance with friends at the Kato Ballroom Angie would meet her future husband, Louis Hauch, eventually being united in marriage February 22, 1941 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Faith was at the center of their lives, both believing in Jesus Christ and the plans he had for their lives. Angie was a long-time and faithful member of the church and would help by using her God-given talents - including baking pies and bread for fundraisers and serving on the alter guild. The greatest joy in Angie's life was being wife to Louis, a mother to Karen and Dennis, and a grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a beautiful example of what it means to be a humble servant of Christ. She had a quiet and tender way to her that showed others you don't have to lead with a loud voice, but with a soft touch and gentle encouragement. Angie supported her husband while he served in the U.S. Army and became a life-time supporter of veterans, playing an active role in the Legion Auxillary. She spent many hours tending her gardens and baking the best rhubarb pies you've ever tasted! She was a member of many bridge clubs and golf leagues at the Minneopa Golf Course. Two years ago, Angie made her home at Sunrise Assisted Living in Minnetonka, where she was loved and adored by the residents and staff. She was welcomed into Heaven on June 4, 2015 by her husband, Louis; son, Dennis; son-in-law, Gary Kirchoff; brother, Walter Golberg; sisters, Florence Street, Agnes Golberg, Anna Lundeer, and Alice Golberg. Those that were richly blessed by Angeline's selflessness include her daughter, Karen Kirchoff of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Paul (Nancy) Kirchoff of Cedar Park, Texas; Kary (Mark) Kruger of Minnetonka, Jay (Denisa) Kirchoff of San Diego, CA; Kristy Durand of Columbia Heights; Tiffany (Jeffrey) Egan of Richfield; and 11 great grandchildren.
