Mankato Mortuary 1001 North Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 507-388-2202 Norman Wilson, age 84 of Eagle Lake, died Tuesday, June 09, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems surrounded by his family. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Hilltop United Methodist Church in Mankato with Rev. Fred Vanderwerf and Rev. Jim Dye officiating. Burial with Military Honors at Eagle Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary and continue one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Norman Wilson was born May 14, 1931 to Adelbert and Elise (Ode) Wilson in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School and after high school was proud to serve his country in the US Army serving a tour during the Korean Conflict. Norm was united in marriage to Arlene Mans on July 26, 1957 in Sioux City, IA. He worked many years for MNDOT as a bridge maintenance superintendent. Norm served as Mayor of Eagle Lake for three terms. He was a member of Hilltop UMC, Eagle Lake post 617, American Legion, VFW post 950, Mankato, Korean War Vets, and friends of Bill W. Norm enjoyed tinkering with mechanics and spending time with friends and most of all family. He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Eagle Lake; four children, Christine (Robin) Winter of Madison Lake, Coleen (Jim) Murphy of Mankato, Paulette (John) Steinbauer of Mankato, Sherden Wilson of Madison Lake; seven grandchildren, Dr. John (Dr. Anna) Jesus, Kate (David) Herberg, Sarah, Magdalene and Rebecca Steinbauer, Nikki and William Wilson; four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, son, Steven; daughter, Valerie; brother, Ervin.
