Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN 56001 507-388-2288 A celebration of life for David Wintz, age 67 of Mankato will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at New Creation World Outreach Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. David Wintz was born November 11, 1947 in Independence, IA to Joseph and Velma Wintz. At a young age, David moved with his family to Des Moines, IA. After graduating high school in 1966, David attended Drake University to study business. David started his own business, Creative Financial Services, helping many people with their financial planning and investments. On July 16, 1977, David married Linda (Berger) at Bray Park in Madison Lake. During the mid1980's, David followed his passion of car restoration; restoring his first car, a 1963 MGB. This passion turned into a career that changed his life. David started New Life to Classics car restoration with his son, Adam. His talents proved successful. His restorations were 1st place National Award Winners every year he built a car. In 1987, David received God into his life; living a new life that always gave God the glory. Music was the cornerstone of his life. He loved to play his harmonica in the church's worship team at New Creation, where David was an active member. On June 8, 2015 David passed peacefully away at his home. He is survived by his wife, Linda Wintz of Mankato; his children, Adam Wintz of Mankato and Brenda Cunningham of Grand River, IA; and many dear friends and family with whom he enjoyed music, traveling, eating and partying. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Velma and brother, Jerry.
