Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Dr. Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Gerald E. Wittrock, age 79, of Mankato, died on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at his home. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 8 from 5-7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary. A private family service will be held with burial at Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Parkinson's Association. Gerald was born on June 18, 1935 in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1953. On June 19, 1954, Gerald was united in marriage to Virginia True in Mankato. Gerald owned and operated his own landscaping business and built boulder walls in the Twin Cities area. He loved his animals, especially his horses. The loves of his life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gerald is survived by his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Darlene Denn and Susan Wittrock; grandchildren, Darcy (Jon) Bormann, Amanda Denn (Val Giuttari), Cassy (Joe) Stephanie, Jerry Flynn, Jim (Jacque) Flynn, Joanna (Owen) Lathrop, Julia Flynn, and Makayla Flynn; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Bormann, Dallas, Erik, and Alex Lathrop, and JT, Jenna, Jadyn, and Jaxon Flynn. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeff Flynn; sister, Joann Trio; and brother, David Wittrock.
