Robert "Bob" L. Dinesen

Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Robert Laurits Dinesen, age 67, of Janesville, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester after a short battle with cancer. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Tuesday. Robert was born October 11, 1947 to Harald Laurits and Clarice A. (Hammond) Dinesen in Waseca. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1965 and Mankato Vo-Tech. Bob served his country with the US Army from 1966-68. He was united in marriage to Linda K. Turbes on October 16, 1971 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato. Bob worked in the grain elevator industry as a grain manager and later an elevator manager in the Pemberton - Janesville area. He was a member of the American Legion, former member of the New Ulm Battery, and raced stock cars in his younger years. Bob enjoyed horses, working for his dad at the Mankato Sale Barn and as a member of the South Central Saddle Club Association, attending horseshows with his family. He took great pride in his 1970 454 Chevelle SS and his collection of Perfection Milking Machines and Memorabilia, which were invented by his grandfather, Laurits Dinesen. Bob is survived by his wife, Linda of Janesville; his three children, Wendy Dinesen (Stacey Busswitz) of Butterfield, Nicholas Dinesen of Mankato, and Bobbi Jo Dinesen (Andy Miskowic) of Princeton; two grandchildren, Drew Busswitz and Spencer Miskowic; mother, Clarice Dinesen of Mankato; brother, James (Cathy) Dinesen of Leawood, Kansas and their children, Erika and Christopher Dinesen; and extended family. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Harald on October 16, 2011
