Fallenstein, age 71, of North Mankato, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at home with his family by his side. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Paul van de Crommert officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2015 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and will continue one hour before Mass at church. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato Hospice Program. Mark was born June 1, 1943 to Clarence and Ruth (Miller) Fallenstein in North Mankato, MN. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1961 and went on to honorably service his country in the US Army Reserve from 1964-1970. Mark was united in marriage to Margaret Daley on December 30, 1967 in Madelia, MN. Together they were blessed with a son and a daughter. Mark owned and operated Fallenstein Corner Café and The Country Pub. He also worked for Randall's Grocery Store, Fallenstein Recycling, and most recently Community Charities. Mark was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Elks Club, in which he was the 1994 Elk of the Year. He facilitated the Miracle League/Fallenstein Field Golf benefit and the Hunt for Hospice benefit. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, reading, telling jokes, and had a passion for gourmet cooking and entertaining. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Peggy; daughter, Melissa Fallenstein; son, Brian (Lindsey) Fallenstein; granddaughter, Emmy Gengler; grandson, Graham Fallenstein; grandbaby "F", due in October; siblings, Fay Fallenstein, Tom (Judy) Fallenstein, Jim (Jenice) Fallenstein, John (Becky) Fallenstein, Judy (Tony) McCabe, and Sue Roemer; and many nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, DeEtt Ryan, Joanie Fallenstein, and Mickey Schulte; and brothers, Al Fallenstein and Michael Fallenstein.
