Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Margaret was born June 27, 1935, to Ube and Mattie Lutterman in Wilmont, MN. After graduating from high school early, and being crowned homecoming queen, Margaret moved to Mankato to attend the Mankato State Teacher's College. She boarded at Dennis' parents' home, met Dennis and they married in Mankato on April 16, 1955. Margaret spent most of her adult life as a proud housewife and mother. Following Dennis' retirement, they both worked 15 years at Carlson Craft of Mankato. She was most known for raising her six children and was always willing to help with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She rarely missed any event, sporting or otherwise, involving her children. She loved to be with family, her close friends and neighbors and especially enjoyed a little low stakes gambling, cooking, dancing, and playing a variety of card games. Margaret could wallpaper anything and obsessed over making sure there was plenty of food for all her family and guests. She was an active parishioner for over 60 years at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her close friends at the Moose Lodge in Mankato. Margaret was a terrific mother and role model. Singularly committed to her husband and children, she sacrificed greatly in supporting her family. She went without nicer things to make sure her children had what they needed in their Catholic education and other pursuits. She famously went years without a new winter jacket so the kids could get their new school clothes. Her degree of selflessness is deeply appreciated by her family. Margaret is survived by her children, Kirk and Cindy (Kevin, Jake and Tyler), Pat and Nancy (James and Michael), Pam Kelly and Ignatius O'Connor, Dan and Gail (Nate, Amanda and Katie), Brad and Lisa Peters (Sam), and Jim and Michelle (Josie); 11 great grandchildren; brother, Alfred; sisters, Theresa, Rita, Marian and Armella; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis in 2014; her parents; and five brothers and sisters. She was very grateful for the attentive, kind care she received from the doctors, nurses, and support staff in Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Andreas Cancer Center at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
