Mankato Mortuary 1001 North Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 507-388-2202 Pehling, Leonard Leonard H. Pehling, age 89, of Mankato, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 11, 2015 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Lauer officiating. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 p.m., Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at church. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. Leonard was born January 6, 1926 in New Ulm, MN to Theodore and Bertha (Ott) Pehling. He was baptized January 17, 1926 at Immanuel Lutheran, rural Courtland and confirmed in April 1939. Leonard graduated from Nicollet High School in 1943 and served in the Army in World War II from 1944-1946. He was united in marriage to Wilma Lange on November 1, 1947 in St. Peter, MN. They lived in Hopkins, Nicollet, and St. Peter before moving to Mankato in November 1952. Leonard worked several years for Coca-Cola Bottling Co in Mankato and in 1959 started working for Crane & Ordway Wholesale Plumbing which changed to Westbourne Supply from which he retired in 1989. Leonard is survived by his children, Richard (Donna) Lange, rural Mankato, Jon Pehling, Ham Lake, JoAnne (Kris) Anderson, Albuquerque, N.M, Jean Dunn, North Mankato; son-in-law, Marshall Bennett Jr; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Walter Pehling; sister, Inez Hermel; and sister-in-law, Arleen (Merlyn) Bruns. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Wilma Pehling who died January 15, 2015, daughter, Jane Bennett, parents, Theodore and Bertha Pehling; brother, Raymond Pehling who was killed in World War II; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Edith Pehling, Elmer and Eleanor Pehling and sister-in-law, Mary Pehling.
