Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, Minnesota 56003 507-388-2288 Barbara Jean Flanagan, age 57, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Fairmont surrounded by her family. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday May 8, 2015 at Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato with Pastor Brad Jackson officiating. Private family burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Services have been entrusted to Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Martin County Humane Society or the donor's choice. Barbara Jean Flanagan was born September 25, 1957 to Steve and Irene (Turula) Muska in Lorain, OH. She graduated from Lorain High School. Barbara was united in marriage to the love of her life, Timothy Flanagan on March 21, 1979 in Lorain, OH. Their two daughters where born in Lorain and in 1982 the family moved to Fairmont where Barb and Tim raised their daughters. Barbara worked hard at Fairmont Foods for many years. She taught her daughters about the meaning of hard work and touched many lives. Barbara enjoyed digging in the dirt, she was proud of her plants and flowers both inside and out of her home. She had the biggest heart, always putting others before herself. Her greatest gift was becoming a grandmother and spending time with her family. She found great joy in helping others. We are all better for knowing her. Barbara is survived by her husband, Timothy of Fairmont; two daughters, Amy Dunigan and her children, Dylan and Drew of Mankato, Lisa (Robert) Topp and their son Aiden of Hanover, MN; two sisters, Carol Quimper of Lorain, OH, Kathy (Tom) Miller of Amherst, OH; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Irene; two brothers, Terry and Richard Muska; son-in-law, Aaron Dunigan; nephew, David Quimper, and Charly Boy.
