Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Dr. Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Elmer "Rudy" Hummer, age 81, of Mankato, formerly of Rapidan, died on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Pathstone Living. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the Pathstone Living Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior at Pathstone. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Elmer was born on January 15, 1934 in Rapidan Township to Frank and Pauline (Hanel) Hummer. He graduated from Rapidan High School. Elmer served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He farmed with his sister Mary in Rapidan for many years. Elmer enjoyed watching western movies and participating in all activities at Pathstone. Elmer was known for his contagious laugh. Elmer is survived by two sisters-in-law, Barbara Hummer and Ruth Hummer; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ethel Thorne, Ida Olson, and Mary Hummer; and brothers, Harold and Irvin.
