Robert Henry Ikier

Northview~North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56003 (507) 388-2288 Robert "Bob" H. Ikier, 88, of Mankato, formerly of Amboy, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Autumn Grace. A celebration of life for Robert will be Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Patrick Patterson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Northview. Interment will be at the Vernon Center Cemetery at a later date. Robert was born April 20, 1927 in Good Thunder to Henry and Freida (Peters) Ikier. Robert served in the United States Army from 1945-1948. On June 8, 1957, Robert was united in marriage to Maxine Henke at the Salem Evangelical Church in Blue Earth. Together, the couple had two children, Scott and Deb. They owned The Cobbler Shop in Amboy for 20 years. Robert farmed in the Vernon Center area for many years. He was an avid gardener. Robert is survived by son, Scott (Kathy) Ikier of Amboy; daughter, Deb Ikier of Amboy; grandchildren, Angie (Trav) Caven of North Mankato and Lisa Ikier of Mankato; great-grandchildren, Nora and Abigail Caven; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine; sister, Deloris (Norbert) Hohenstein; and niece, Janet Hohenstein.
