Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Cyril C. "Casey" Clements Jr, age 86, of Madison Lake died Monday, April 20, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2015 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before service at the church on Friday. Interment with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Cyril C. Clements Jr. was born November 22, 1928 to Cyril Case and Marie (Carstenson) Clements Sr. Cyril graduated from Shattuck Military Academy, the University of Minnesota, and Mankato State College with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree. Casey was a great swimmer making record swims at Shattuck for the swim team. He was a secondary high school teacher and later did substitute teaching including driver's education in the Mankato area. Some of his greatest memories and stories come from active duty in the U.S. Army serving in Germany from 1951-53, and continuing with the Army Reserves until retiring as a Lt. Col. Casey lived out his later years on Lake Washington, he loved his cats especially "Goldie". He took joy in yard work, feeding the birds, and riding his bike until age 85. Casey is survived by his sister, Barbara Wewerka; six nieces and nephews, Leslie Marie Baker, Marie C. Eilenfeldt, Deborah Jargowsky, Charles M. Eilenfeldt, David Eilenfeldt, and Case Wewerka. Casey was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Marie; sister, Jane Clements Eilenfeldt; and two brothers, William Kemp Clements and James Braden Clements. Casey will always be remembered for his smile and his joy of telling his lifelong stories.
