Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, Minnesota 56001 507-388-2202 Elizabeth "Betty" Brown, age 95, of Mankato died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Laurel's Peak Rehabilitation Center. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Paul van de Crommert officiating. A visitation will be from 4 -7 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for the family's discretion. Elizabeth was born on March 3, 1920 to Robert and Irene (Knox) Daley in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from St. Margaret's Academy in Minneapolis. Betty was united in marriage to Gerald A. Brown on February 14, 1942 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Together they were blessed with six children. She worked as a switchboard operator for Mankato Telephone Co. and retired from Wornson-Polzin Dental Laboratory in 1982. Betty was a long time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and member of the Council of Catholic Women. She truly enjoyed reading mysteries, knitting, crocheting, bird watching, walking, golf, and road trips. Betty loved traveling the US and Europe with Gerald until his death in 2003. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Betty is survived by her children, Gerald "Jay" Brown of Mankato, Steven (Ronnie) Brown of Alexandria, VA, Margaret (Dan) Larson of Mankato, Timothy (Pat) Brown of Waseca, Mary Beth (Steven) Johnson of Marshall, and Christopher (Anne) Brown of Madison, WI; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; parents; and brother, Charles Daley.
