Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56003 (507) 388-2288 Kathleen Alice "Dickie" Bertrand, age 89, of Lake Washington, died Monday, April 6, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marysburg, with Rev. Allen Paul Eilen officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Friday at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Marysburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, or the donor's choice. Kathleen was born December 25, 1925, in Mankato. She was the daughter of Lyle and Alice (Orr) LaGow. Kathleen was a graduate of Mankato High School and later took various continuing education classes at Mankato State University. She was united in marriage to Alden "Bud" Bertrand on April 21, 1947 in Mankato. Kathleen was co-owner of Lloyd Lumber Company in North Mankato. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marysburg and the Mankato Golf Club. Kathleen enjoyed golfing, curling, bowling, playing tennis, dancing, playing cards, gardening, traveling, taking bicycle trips in New York and Europe, attending plays and the Mankato Symphony, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathleen is survived by her son, Tom Bertrand of Mankato; daughter-in-law, Corliss Bertrand of Mankato; daughter, Linda McAlister of The Villages, FL; daughter, Barbara (Ernie Wagenbach) Bertrand of Remer; son, Mike (Carol) Bertrand of St. Peter; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck LaGow of North Mankato; three sisters, Betty Padilla of North Mankato, Elaine (Pete) Brown of North Mankato, and Sally (Dave) Derner of Sioux Falls, SD; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alden; son, Barry; brother, John; and son-in-law, Lynn.
