Mankato Mortuary 1001 North Mankato, MN Mankato, MN 56001 507-388-2202 John Michael Hoffman, age 62, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Andy Olsem officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the "Nicholas Hoffman Service to Others Scholarship Fund" at Mankato East High School or to the donor's choice. John was born November 6, 1952 to Richard and Nancy (Anderson) Hoffman in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1971 and then attended the University of Minnesota. John later attended Mankato State University where he played football. John was united in marriage to Kathleen Hensel on December 2, 1978 in Mankato. John was a stockbroker and later a financial planner for Transamerica. John was former member of the Mankato Golf Club and Mankato Elks Club. He enjoyed golf, hunting and most of all his family and friends. John is survived by his wife, Kathy Hoffman of Mankato; son Matt (Stephanie) Hoffman of Barrington Hills, IL; grand-daughter, Nicole "Nikki" Hoffman; five siblings, Tom (Mary) Hoffman of Mankato, Patti (David) Bye of Mankato, Jane Hoffman of Buffalo, MN, Barb (Pat) Conley of Mankato, David (Rose) Hoffman of Mankato; three sisters-in-laws, Colleen Manderfeld, Chris (Steve) Bjerke, Geri (Ralph) Bublitz; one brother-in-law, Mark (Donna) Hensel; and many nieces and nephews.
