Northview~North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56003 (507) 388-2288 Forrest (Butch) Lee Teigland, 66, of North Mankato, passed into Eternal Rest on March 15, 2015. Butch was born July 20, 1948 in Mankato to Loren and Charlotte Teigland of Delavan, Minnesota. He graduated from Mapleton Public School in 1966. He enlisted in the Army in 1968 and was discharged in 1971. On January 11, 1975, he married Gloria Marie Chavez. Together they made their home in North Mankato and were blessed with two children. While his love of family was preeminent throughout his life, his other loves included his friends, hunting and fishing, the wide-open spaces, and his Harley-Davidson motorcyclesespecially his Harleys. Butch was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman with a pronounced respect for all of God's Creation. His love of Country was deeply rooted in all that he had experienced and in all that he hoped his kids and grandchildren would experience, appreciate, and love. He grew up unashamedly "a country boy". Those values were clearly woven into the fabric of his life. Butch believed in "community" as evidenced by the many organizations he supported and the friends that became his "brothers". Butch is survived by his two children, Scott (Mandy) of Crystal, MN; Nicole of Littleton, CO; his mother, Charlotte of New Richland, MN; his siblings, Linda (Ron) of Twain Harte, CA; Larry of Montgomery, MN; Marilyn (Dan) Cook of Blaine, MN; Steve (Cindy) of Katy, TX; and 3 grandchildren and 5 nephews. Butch was preceded in death by his wife, his father, and one niece. Visitation - Friday, March 20, 2015 from 4-7 PM at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., North Mankato. Funeral service - Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 222 Pfau St., Mankato. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
