Lake Crystal Mortuary 648 S. Main St. Lake Crystal, MN 56055 (507) 726-6161 Myrna F. (Miller) Thomas, age 86, of Lake Crystal, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Mankato. A Prayer Service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Lake Crystal, with Rev. Debbie King Quale officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Private family burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery, Judson Township, Blue Earth County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the First United Methodist Church or donor's choice. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Myrna Ferol Thomas was born October 22, 1927, in Lakeville, Minnesota to Freeman and Minnie (Cookin) Miller. She graduated from Lakeville High School in 1945. She graduated from Mankato State Teachers College and started her teaching career in Lewisville, MN. She taught Elementary in North Mankato, Garden City, and Lake Crystal. Myrna married Burton Richard Thomas, of Lake Crystal, on June 10, 1950, at Christiania Lutheran Church in Lakeville. They resided in Lake Crystal, raised four children, and enjoyed nearly 61 years of marriage. Myrna was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School, vacation Bible school, directing the children's choir, was a member of the church choir and of the Epworth Circle. Myrna enjoyed many activities, including dancing, celebrating her Norwegian heritage, aerobics, golf, spending time with family and friends. Enjoyed 21 winters in the Hill Country of Texas. Myrna is survived by four children, Kerri (Tom) Baker of Thousand Oaks, CA, Paul Thomas of Lake Crystal, James Thomas of St. Cloud, and Jodi Thomas of Lake Crystal; sister, Carol (Harold) Harper of Faribault; three sisters-in-law, Elaine Hood of Lake Crystal, Violet Louris of Edina, and Vivian Thomas of Lake Crystal; and a wide extended family. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burton on February 4, 2011; brother, Allan Miller; and two sisters, Lenore (Oren) Larson and Arlene (Dale) Schmidtke.
