(Hobart) Ritter, age 92, of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Crystal Seasons in Lake Crystal. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church, Lake Crystal with Pastor Debbie King Quale, officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Private family interment will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Lake Crystal. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Virginia was born May 30, 1922 to Melvin and Clara (Hanson) Hellekson in Butternut, Minnesota. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1940. Ginny was united in marriage to Henry "Hank" Hobart on March 10, 1943 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Butternut. Hank died on May 2, 1980. She later married Paul F. Ritter on August 30, 1986 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lake Crystal. Ginny was employed as a bookkeeper for Land O'Lakes in Lake Crystal and Coca-Cola in Mankato. She then worked as an Ag loan officer for the National Bank of Commerce before retiring in 1984. Ginny was over a 70 year member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Crystal and served on the church ladies circle. She was a former Eastern Star member, member of the American Business Women of Mankato, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, ballroom dancing, playing cards, attending the annual Hellekson Family Reunion, and spending time with her friends and family. Ginny is survived by her husband, Paul of Lake Crystal; two sons, Ron (Kathi) Hobart of Hayward, WI and Bob (Teri) Hobart of Lake Crystal; step-son, Doug (Julie) Ritter of Westerville, OH; step-son-in-law, Jerry Strand; grandchildren, Paula Thompson, Hannah (Mike) Dunn-Ryan and great granddaughter, Marley; step-grandchildren, Leah (Drake) Snead, Darren (Lamine) Ritter, Brad (Allison) Ritter, Mike (Dawn) Ritter, Tim (Stephanie) Ritter, Steve (Diane) Ritter, Casey (Dave) Pehrson, Richard Strand, Michael Iverson; fifteen step great-grandchildren; four step great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Jedlund of Webster, WI and JoAnn (Bill) Richmond of Lake Crystal; sister-in-law, Jean Schultz of Fairmont; brother-in-law, Bob (Priscilla) Ritter of Prior Lake; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Henry "Hank"; brother, Verle (Libby) Hellekson.
