Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56003 507-388-2288 Marie Josephine Rajtar, 55 of Mankato passed away peacefully Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato following a very brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband, Geno, sons: Adam and Noah, step-daughter, Melissa Schreiner, sister, brothers, nieces, nephews and many special friends. Marie's short, but special life will be celebrated with a mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Visitation will be held at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, Sunday, March 15th from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to mass at the church on Monday morning with burial taking place at a later date. Marie was born in St. Peter April 13, 1959 to Harold and Margaretmary (Weber) Ploog, growing up on Duck Lake. Marie graduated from Loyola High School in 1977 and received her degree in Retail Management from South Central College. Marie worked at the Lorraine Shop prior to owning and managing Weddings Plus. She continued to build her career at Menards and Target prior to becoming self-employed cleaning homes and managing properties for Atwood Property Management. Marie enjoyed watching her sons play sports and was always their biggest fan. She loved decorating and other creative projects, always lending creative advice to family and friends. She loved spending time with friends and family, gardening, working with flowers, and of course her yearly trip to Spider Lake and the annual fall sisters/girls trip! Marie was united in marriage to Geno Rajtar on April 23, 1983. Besides her husband Geno, Marie leaves behind her sons, Adam (special friend, Emily) and Noah; step-daughter, Melissa (Jonathan) Schreiner and their children, Gabriel, Darby, and Devin; brothers, Bernard (Kathy), Norman (Kathy), Robert (Julie), Dwayne (Gwyn) and George (Mary); sister, Helen McCabe (Jerry); mother-in-law, Stella; brothers-in-law, Steve Biehn and Ed Rajtar; sister-in-law Theresa (John) Czichray; nieces, nephews, and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her father and mother, sister, Jeannie Biehn; niece, Angela Ploog, great-nephews, Brody Spector and Ian Majerus, great-niece Lola Majerus, sister-in-law, Ania Rajtar and father-in-law, Adam Rajtar.
