Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive Mankato, MN 56003 (507) 388-2288 Guy Lowell Lund, age 85, of Belvidere, IL and formerly of Rapidan, MN, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2015 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN with Pastor Jason Erickson, officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Rapidan, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Guy was born November 9, 1929 to Guy Hevelyn and Gladys Christine (Casperson) Lund in Lake Benton, MN. Guy was united in marriage to Ardelle A. Burzlaff on August 20, 1950 in Pipestone, MN. He was employed at Lange's Filling Station in Pipestone. They moved to Rapidan, MN where they raised their four children and Guy's brother, Mike, who became part of the family after the death of their mother, Gladys. Guy worked for Gamble - Robinson, Honeymead, and later became a self-employed carpenter. After Ardelle died, he moved to Arizona to be near his son, Larry and then later Texas to be near his son, Randy. He returned to Mankato for a time, then moved to Brainerd, MN and later to Belvidere, IL where he met, Kaye Slagle. Guy enjoyed playing horseshoes, dartball, collecting rocks, fishing, deer hunting, playing cards, puzzles, and computer games. Guy is survived by four children, Larry (Sue) Lund of Thatcher, AZ, Mike (Louise) Lund of Janesville, MN, Deb (Howard) Jacobs of Baxter, MN and Ron (Jodel) Lund of Mankato, MN; his better half', Kaye Slagle of Belvidere, IL; 17 grandchildren, Troy (Delilah) Lund, Angie (Adrian) Garcia, Jason (Debra) Lund, Andrew Lund, Bruce Lund, Wendy Lund, Julie (Jaiah) Kamara, Guy Justin Lund, Anna Lund, Kara (Jason) Erickson, Shanna Fleming, Alissa (Drew) Fanberg, Ryan Lund, Ross Lund, Robb Lund, Rick Lund, Mary Jane (Sean) Sletten; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; six siblings, Milton Lund of Belvidere, IL, Pat (Marlin) Schmid of Pahrump, NV, Per (Mitzi) Lund of Pahrump, NV, Gail Haas of Park Rapids, MN, Paul Lund of Franklin, MN, Michael (Louise) Lund of Janesville, MN; sister-in-law, Maxine Lund of Fergus Falls, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Guy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ardelle on March 19, 1981; son, Guy Randall Lund on March 8, 2000; siblings, Jean (Keith) McCurdy, Marle (George) Inman, and Jan Lund; brother-in-law, Frank Haas; sister-in-law, Doris Lund.
