Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, Minnesota 56001 507-388-2202 Raymond D. Folkerts, age 77, of Kasota, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Memorial Service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Nolting officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 and continue until the service. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family. Raymond was born October 31, 1937 to George and Grace (Rameyer) Folkerts in Iowa Falls, IA. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Richter on June 29, 1958 in Mercedes, TX. Together they were blessed with three children. For 50 years, Raymond worked in the construction industry as a mechanic and truck driver. Raymond loved gardening, fishing, and camping trips with his family years ago. His greatest joy was having Bar-B-Q's on the weekends. Raymond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sylvia; daughter, Linda (Curt) Malecha; son, Steve (special friend, Dawn Strasmann); beloved dog, Spike; grandchildren, Jason (Tammi) Attenberger, Jessica (Chad) Rinehart, Jaimie Rae, and Stephen Folkerts; great-grandchildren, Brett, Brianna, Abbygayle, Reagann, Taylor Rae, Dylan, and Raymond Donte; and siblings, James, Alice, Fannie, and Carol. Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Russell; parents; and brother, Marvin.
