Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2288 Eric Scott Peters, age 42, of Mankato died, Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Bethel Baptist Church, Mankato, with Pastor David Banfield, officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour before service at the church on Tuesday. Private family Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for a scholarship fund for his children. Eric was born May 11, 1972 to Bruce and Claris (Dannen) Peters in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Elk River High School in 1990 and then Anoka Hennepin Technical College. He was united in marriage to Diane Hoglund on July 15, 1995 in Willmar. Eric helped build The Links at Northfork Golf Course in Ramsey and Southbrook Golf Club in Annandale, where he was also Superintendent. For the last 12 years he has been Superintendent at North Links Golf Course in North Mankato. Eric was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and he enjoyed helping others in the church and community with his mechanical abilities. He was a member of the Minnesota Golf Course Superintendents Association. Eric loved running and was a member of the Greater Mankato Multisport Club. He also enjoyed hunting, being outdoors in any capacity, spending time socializing with friends, and being devoted to his family. Eric is survived by his wife, Diane; his three children, Kirsten, Megan, and Maxwell; parents, Bruce and Claris Peters of Buffalo; two brothers, Chad (Jennifer) Peters of Prior Lake and Cory (Gwen) Peters of Lebanon, OR; sister, Angela Peters of Coon Rapids; mother-in-law, Ardis Hoglund of Waite Park; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Rebecca) Hoglund of Minneapolis and Tim (Ronna) Hoglund of Colorado Springs, CO; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents; Harley and Ruth Peters, Cordy and Roberta Dannen; father-in-law, Eldon Hoglund.
