Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home Mapleton, MN 56065 507-524-3616 Richard Nowak Richard Polack' Nowak, age 75 of Mapleton, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Mankato. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at St. Teresa's and will continue one hour prior to the service. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28 at the church. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are with Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home. Richard was born on December 23, 1939 in Elmore Township, Faribault County to Ignatius and Anna (Kotewa) Nowak. He graduated from East Chain High School in 1958. He was united in marriage to Maureen Hughes on April 5, 1969 in Kasota, MN. Richard's work history included; Jones Sheet Metal, trucking for George Larson Trucking and Leonard Gartner Trucking, and he retired as a maintenance engineer from Cloverleaf Cold Storage. Richard was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Richard had many hobbies including; snowmobiling, motorcycling, woodworking, vintage John Deere tractors, operating a custom service company for lawn and garden services, playing cards, photography, roadtrips, raising rose gardens, rock collecting, and loved animals, specifically cats. Richard is survived by his wife, Maureen, Mapleton; children, Laurinda (Don) Sohre, Madison Lake, Andy (Jennifer) Nowak, Glencoe, Michael Nowak, Minneapolis, Pamela (Dale) Manzke, Fairmont, Scott (Rhonda) Kehoe, Hinton, IA, Marsha Renier, Litchfield; grandchildren, Anna Sohre, Nicholas Sohre, Daniel Sohre, Brittney Nowak, Alec Nowak, Jaiden Nowak, Ryan (Annugrah) Manzke, Derek (special friend, Britany) Manzke, Reina Kehoe, Megan Ream, Ryan Ream, Maisie Renier, Megan Renier; great-grandchild, Oakley Manzke; brothers, Harold (Joan) Nowak, Welcome, Earl (Judy) Nowak, Sherburn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leo Hughes, Chatfield, Edna Hughes, Chatfield, Lauretta Schneider, Farmington, Joseph (Christina) Hughes, San Diego, CA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; 2 grandchildren, Jenna Sue Manzke, and Zachary Renier; brothers-in-law, Clement Hughes, Robert Hughes, Irvin Street, Leighton Kicker, Robert Schneider, and Clyde Hughes; and sisters-in-law, Iona Street, Eileen Kicker, Helen Hughes, and Arlene Hughes Lokken.
