Wilma Pehling Wilma Louise (Lange) Pehling, age 90 of North Mankato, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mankato. A visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N Riverfront Dr, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Burial will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Wilma was born on August 2, 1924 in Oshawa Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota to Carl and Lydia (Rengstorf) Lange. She was baptized on August 9, 1924 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter by Pastor G. Theo Albrecht. She was confirmed on April 10, 1938 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet by Pastor F. Koehler. Her confirmation verse was, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me - Phil. 4: 13." She graduated from Nicollet High School in 1943 and then attended Mankato Commercial College for a year. She worked for Milwaukee Road in Austin as a steno-clerk for one year and then worked at Standard Oil Offices in Mankato until her marriage to Leonard Pehling on November 1, 1947 in St. Peter. They lived in Hopkins, Nicollet, and St. Peter before moving to Mankato in 1952. In Mankato, she worked as a church secretary at Our Savior's Lutheran church from 1959 to 1963 and then worked for Tillisch Optometric Offices for 23 years until her retirement in 1989. Wilma is survived by her husband, Leonard; children, Richard (Donna) Lange, rural Mankato, Jon Pehling, Ham Lake, JoAnne (Kris) Anderson, Albuquerque, N.M, Jean Dunn, North Mankato; son-in-law, Marshall Bennett Jr; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Arleen (Merlyn) Bruns; brother-in-law, Walter Pehling; and sister-in-law, Inez Hermel. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jane Bennett; brothers-in-law, Elmer and Marvin Pehling, Wilbert Hermel; sisters-in-law, Mary, Eleanor and Edith Pehling.
