Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Margaret Theresa DePyper, age 98, of Mankato died, January 2, 2015, at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato with Fr. Andrew Olsem and Deacon Bob DePyper, officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary with a 6 p.m., prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour before service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials may be given to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Renovation Fund. Margaret was born March 12, 1916 to Thomas and Margaret (Tracey) Breyfogle in Marshall, MN. She attend Lyon County Country School. She was united in marriage to Julius J. DePyper on May 21, 1940 in Green Valley, MN. Margaret and Julius worked as farm hands before running their own farm. She later worked at the Wagon Wheel Cafe and Immanuel Hospital in housekeeping before retiring. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She did Adoration, church cleaning, was a former member of the Rosary Society, and a member of Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, word searches, and especially using her green thumb growing flowers. Margaret is survived by her seven children, Robert (Millie) DePyper of Owensville, MO, Jim DePyper of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jean Short of Champlin, Phyllis McCargar of Mankato, Jerry (Lenora) DePyper of Nicaragua, John (Mike Beck) DePyper of St. Louis Park, Mary (Robert) Krambeer of Sleepy Eye; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister-in-law, Elsie Elbu of Apple Valley; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Julius on August 8, 1999; son-in-law, Ray Rauchman; nine brothers; two sisters.
