Clifford Orvin Bye Clifford "Cliff" Bye, age 86, died on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Oak Terrace. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Jay Dahlvang officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Clifford Orvin Bye was born on August 10, 1928 to Emil and Alma (Laugen) Bye on the family farm outside of Emmons, MN. Cliff attended school in Emmons and Scarville. After graduation, he proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Hawaii and Japan. Following his service, Cliff attended Business College. He was united in marriage to Charlotte S. Runden on November 5, 1950 in Albert Lea, MN. Cliff was a natural salesman and loved selling cars at Brakke Benzie and later, Snell Motors. He has a knack for conversation and a kind sense of humor. Cliff loved to play cards, especially pfeffer and 500. He also loved the Minnesota Twins and singing in the choir at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Cliff was devoted to his wife and family, always putting his family first-unless someone called about a car they were interested in. Cliff is survived by his son, David (Patti), and daughter, Diane (Jim) Mrotz; granddaughters, Kristin (Paul) Eberth, Lori (Will Kroenke) Bye, Tessa (Eric) Syverson and Ellyn Mrotz; three great-grandchildren, and many wonderful cousins and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, his parents, brother, and three sisters.
