Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Rose E. Redig, 89, of Lake Crystal, formerly of Wells, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Country Neighbors in Lake Crystal. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2015, at Mankato Mortuary with visitation held one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield, WI. Rose was born on October 28, 1925 to Martin and Lucille (King) Huebl. On October 23, 1943, Rose was united in marriage to Francis Redig at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield, WI. The couple lived in Marshfield until 1950 when they moved to the Wells, MN area. Rose owned Rose's Pizza Business in Wells, MN. Rose was a wonderful homemaker who loved to garden, cook and bake. She was known by many for the beautiful afghans she crocheted and the baby hats she made and donated to different hospitals for newborns. She loved old-time music and spending time with her family. Rose is survived by her children, Carol Olson, Forest City, IA, Richard Redig and special friend Georgine LeBeau, Arlington Heights, IL, Joe (Jean) Redig, Forest City, IA, Mary (Edward) Meyer, Pleasanton, CA, Mar (David) McDonough, Faribault, MN, Andrew Redig, Mankato, MN, Jerry (Tami) Redig, Albert Lea, MN, Tom (Linda) Redig, Eagan, MN, John Redig, Mankato, MN, Gene (Tracy) Redig, Novato, CA, Sharon (Steve) Lenz, Mankato, MN, Kathy (Steve) Kauffmann, Wells, MN, and Rita (Todd) Grunzke, Hutchinson, MN. Rose is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; brother, David (Joan) Huebl; sisters, Mary Radtke, Delores Zimmerman; sisters-in-law, Irma Brayer and Sr. Gina Redig; aunts, Frances Johnson, Delores Wojeiechowski and uncle, Bernie King. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; her parents, Martin & Lucille Huebl; sister, Jean Cook; brother, John Huebl; and grandson, Conor Redig.
