LuEtta (Young) Theissen, age 79 of North Mankato, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., with Pastor Steve Kosberg officiating. A visitation will start one hour prior to the service. LuEtta was born on July 1, 1935 in Dewald Township to John and Lucille Riemersma. She was united in marriage to Alfred Young on June 2, 1952 in Worthington, MN. Alfred passed away on February 15, 2000. In March of 2004, LuEtta was united in marriage to Jerome Theissen in Mankato, MN. LuEtta's work history included several jobs in the Mankato area, the longest was working for the Salvation Army as a cook. She volunteered prior to working at the Salvation Army and continued volunteering after her retirement. In addition to her work at the Salvation Army, she was a Moose Lodge Club member, holding several offices including being a Senior Regent. LuEtta had many hobbies that included; playing cards, bingo, karaoke, bowling, dancing, fishing with Jerry, spending time at Lake Washington, and playing the piano, violin, and accordion. LuEtta is survived by her husband, Jerry Theissen; children, Peggy Rosillo, Mankato, Lynda (Terry) Wilking, Eagle Lake, Amy (Joseph) Thompson, Savage, and Paul (Ann) Young, Moorhead; step-children, Cindy Theissen, Patti (Greg ) Sjulstad, Jane Theissen, and Mary Beth (Steve) Manninen; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, William (Elle) Riemersma; brothers-in-law, George Young, Donald (Louise) Theissen, Mike (Linda) Theissen; sister-in-law, Nancy (Jerry) Hoehn; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. LuEtta is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred Young; son, William Young; and brother, Clarence Riemersma.
