Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, Minnesota 56001 507-388-2202 Suzanne C. Near, age 70, lifelong resident of Mankato, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Harry Meyering Center. Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12 Noon on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Mankato Mortuary with a prayer service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be later in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Jamestown Township, Blue Earth County, MN. Memorials are preferred to the Harry Meyering Center. Suzanne was born February 21, 1944 to Raymond and Clara (Menten) Near in Mankato. She was very talented, musically and played the accordion. Susie enjoyed anything Lawrence Welk and loved spending time with her longtime boyfriend, Robert. He was very near and dear to Susie's heart. Susie is survived by her two sisters and two brothers; and many nieces and nephews. Susie was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother. Susie's family would like to send special thanks the staff of Harry Meyering Center & MRCI for their love, support, and care of Susie.
