Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 LaVonne J. Heins, age 79, passed away peacefully at Oaklawn Health Care Center on December 12, 2014 with her family by her side. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17 at 12:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer Jr. and Rev. Dr. James Lamb officiating. Visitation will be from 10-12:00 at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. LaVonne was born on July 31, 1935 to Harold and Sylvia (Hiller) Brunz in Good Thunder. She graduated from Good Thunder High School. LaVonne was united in marriage to Harry Heins on August 3, 1954. LaVonne was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. She loved spending time with her family. LaVonne is survived by her husband, Harry Heins of Good Thunder; daughter, Nancy (Gary) FitzSimmons of Good Thunder; son, Howie (Robin) Heins of Burleson, TX; four grandchildren, Heather FitzSimmons and special friend, Devin of Mankato, Kyle FitzSimmons and special friend, Paige of Rochester; and Hunter and Hayden Heins of Burleson, TX; sister, RoxAnne (Jim) Lamb of Marshalltown, IA; sisters-in-law, Marion Brunz of Mankato and Juanita Brunz of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dale and Dick Brunz; and sister, Marsha Kluevein. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and personnel at Oaklawn Health Care Center and the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice for the wonderful care and support that was given.
