She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapidan and served on different committees. She married Michael Mitchell October 21, 2000, creating many happy memories together. Most important to Karen were her children and grandchildren, who will all miss their "Granny." She was selfless and would always be willing to do anything for anybody. Karen elected to live life happy, despite her diagnosis of cancer. Although Karen passed away, her happiness will live on with her loved ones in Heaven.
