Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Lucille "Lucy" Faye Blickem, age 89, of Mankato, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Laurel's Peak in Mankato. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before service on Tuesday at the mortuary. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Lucille was born May 14, 1925 to Axel and Gertie (Anderson) Pearson in Viborg, South Dakota. She was united in marriage to Clarence H. Hansen on September 4, 1948 in Viborg, South Dakota. Clarence died in 1970. She was later united in marriage to Gene Blickem on August 6, 1977. Gene died in 1978. Lucy worked in the laundry at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital for many years. She enjoyed knitting, playing accordion, dancing - especially at the Kato Ballroom, going out to eat, shopping, Polka music, country music, and cats. Lucy is survived by her daughter, Marlyce (Joe) Wachtel of Mankato; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Clarence Hansen and Gene Blickem; two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, William "Bill" Pishek.
