Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Lloyd McCollum, age 75, of Janesville, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at his home. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eagle Lake with Rev. Dr. Scott E. Olson, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at a later date. Lloyd was born September 17, 1939 in rural Mankato to Lester and Lena (Widmen) McCollum. He attended St. Clair High School. Lloyd started working for W. Hodgeman & Sons in 1958, and worked there for 29 years. Lloyd owned and operated D & L Diner in St. Clair. Lloyd was united in marriage to Dylane Hiller, and they later divorced. On December 12, 1980, he was united in marriage to Ginger Struble. He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church. Lloyd was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed his hobby farm, sports, NASCAR racing, and spending time with his family & beloved dogs, Reggie & Teddi. Lloyd loved driving and working on race cars. He won many features and season Championship at St. Peter Speedway. Lloyd was a loving husband and father. He will always be remembered for his great pride and strength. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Ginger of rural Janesville; six children, Steve (Deb) McCollum of St. Clair, Denise (Brandt) Baker of Brainerd, Jeff (Connie) McCollum of rural Mankato, Tim McCollum of Faribault, Justin (Jessi) McCollum of North Mankato, and Mike McCollum of rural Janesville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, LeRoy (Marilyn) McCollum of Cleveland; sister, Deloris (Dean) Mosher of St. Clair; and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister. Lloyd's family would like to thank his many friends and family for visits and support during his brief illness.
