Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Charlotte Ruth Hackbarth, age 83, of Mankato, died on November 22, 2014 at Pathstone Living. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, 502 W. 7th St., with Rev. Keith Siverly officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family prefers memorials be given to St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church or Risen Savior Lutheran School. Charlotte was born on November 18, 1931, in White River, South Dakota, the daughter of the Rev. Herbert and Emma (Roeder) Hackbarth. She graduated from Dexter High School in Dexter, MI in 1949. She lived in Mankato since 1952. She was employed as a secretary at several places in Mankato, primarily for 18 years as a secretary to the Mankato plant manager of Continental Can Company. Her last place of employment was Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home. Charlotte was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she had served as Cradle Roll secretary. She was a member of the Mankato Women's Glee Club in the 1950's. Char will also be remembered for faithfully sending greeting cards to family and friends as long as she was physically able to. She became a resident of Pathstone Living in April 2007. Charlotte is survived by siblings: Eunice Owens, Mankato, Arthur (Judy) Hackbarth, Lake City, Lydia (John) Schibbelhut, Barre Mills, WI, Grace Anderson and Hib Hackbarth, both of North Mankato, Lois (Wouter) Frieling, Blaine, and Fritz (Ronda) Hackbarth, Onalaska, WI; many nieces and nephews; and one cousin. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Rachel Seebach, and brother-in-law, Milton Owens.
