Cletus Leiferman Cletus Leiferman, age 86 of Mankato, died at his home on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving wife and children. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato, with Fr. John Kunz officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service at the church on Friday, November 14, 2014. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are with Mankato Mortuary. Cletus was born on June 13, 1928 to Leo and Clara Leiferman in Vivian Township, Waseca. Cletus graduated from Loyola High School in 1946 and then joined the Army. Cletus served as a paratrooper and served overseas in Japan before he was discharged in December of 1947. Cletus was united in marriage to Josephine Wolfe on October 25, 1950 at SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church. Cletus worked for 37 years as an engineer technician for Kato Engineering before retiring. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the VFW - American Legion in Mankato. He had many hobbies that included; hunting, fishing, playing cards, dancing, playing the accordion and spending time with his family. Cletus is survived by his wife, Josephine; his children, Dennis (Teresa) Leiferman, Donald (Jane) Leiferman, Bonnie (Scott) Gilbert, and Dean Leiferman; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Rhoda Mae Schull; and sister-in-law, Jannice Leiferman. Cletus is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gloria Ann; and 10 siblings. Cletus's family would like to extend a special thank you the Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care and support they gave Cletus and the Leiferman family.
