A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, November 15th 2014 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Friday, November 14th, 2014 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary and continue one hour prior to the service Saturday morning at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Troy was born on July 9, 1972 to Maury and Anne (Tolin) Haefner, being the first born he later became a big brother to two sisters, Heidi and Missy. Troy attended school in Mankato. From his younger years he showed interest working in the electrical field starting with wiring his tree fort to working with the family business. Troy has always been a talented electrician. Troy married Jennifer Bornholdt in August of 1992 and shortly after that they moved to Phoenix, Arizona where they lived until 2001.They had one son, Tyler who was born in 1998. They later divorced. Troy lived his whole life always caring more about others than himself. He loved his son, and enjoyed the time they shared together. He was very proud of Tyler who was diagnosed with Autism and loved to share stories about him with everyone around him. He loved to take Tyler swimming and work on electronics with him. Troy had a keen sense of entrepreneurship and invested his time into the renewable energy field; trying to develop new technology using his electrical background. Throughout the years he made many friends in this industry throughout the U.S. and overseas, he was very well versed on the ins and out of renewable energy. His other love was to be involved in politics. He is survived by his parents, Maury and Anne (Tolin) Haefner of Mankato; son Tyler of Mankato; sisters Heidi Haefner and her son Owen of Eden Prairie, Missy Haefner of Minneapolis; aunts and uncle, Maurine and (Mike) Corcoran, of Sumner WA, Michelle Long of Minneapolis; and cousins Kim Warness and Leanne Corcoran of Seattle WA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Les and Mertyce (Mace) Haefner, and Clarence and Susie (Webb) Tolin.
