William "Bill" Baer, age 55, of Nashwauk, MN, formerly of Mankato, died on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Mike Omtvedt officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30-1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Private family burial will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Memorials are preferred to Hosanna Lutheran Church or the donor's choice. Bill was born on November 13, 1958 in Mankato to Gene and Bonnie (McGill) Baer. While he was younger, he lived in the Mankato and Elysian area. He completed trucking school and two years of Vo Tech in Hibbing, MN. Bill was a trucker in every sense and loved being on the road. He had many interests and talents, remodeling homes, woodworking, fishing, and reading. His love for his dogs was a huge part of his life. Bill is survived by his parents, Gene and Bonnie; brother, Craig (Marcia); sisters, Lisa (Mark) Scripture, Jennifer Baer (Nancy), and Emily (Patrick) Hanson; his best friend ever, Barb Kalmi; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Julie Hodgkins and four grandparents.
