Northview - North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56003 507-388-2288 Mildred Jean Quaday Mildred Jean Quaday, age 85 of North Mankato, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Mankato. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, with Rev. Dawn Carder officiating. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary. A private burial will be held at Woodland Hills Memorial Park at a later date. Mildred was born on March 11, 1929 to Melvin and Marie Anderson in Mankato, MN. Mildred was united in marriage to Carl Quaday on September 19, 1953 in Hennepin County. Mildred's career life included owning and operating two restaurants in Mankato; Silver Grill and QT. She then worked at the Wagon Wheel and Mel's Café. She lastly worked at Carlson Craft and was there for over 15 years before retiring. She was a notary public for many years. She was most recently partnering with her daughter to co-found and create Thrifty Kidz'. Mildred was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hy-Vee Coffee Club, and was a member/volunteer for the Cancer Survivor Club as a two-time breast cancer survivor. She had many hobbies including; crafting, sewing, macramé, quilting, gardening, gathering family collectibles, but her most treasured time was spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and granddogs. Mildred is survived by her children; Linda (Steve) Howk of Springfield, IL, Frank Quaday of Janesville, Leon (Sandy) Quaday of Eagle Lake, Sue (Scott) Lohse of Mankato, Duane (Jessica) Quaday of Appleton, WI, and Valerie (Ross) Richter of Morristown; step-daughter, Ailene Quaday and family of Spirit Lake, IA; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Condon; brothers, Ted Anderson and Joseph Anderson; 17 granddogs; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl (2008); son, Curtis "Butch"; granddaughter, Mindy Lohse; grandson, Christopher Quaday; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Mildred's family would like to give a special thank-you to those in the Palliative Care at MCHS-Mankato and the Oak Terrace community for all their kindness and assistance during Mildred's life.
