Carl Dean Ahlstrom, age 70, of North Mankato, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in Arizona City, AZ.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive. Interment will be in Kern's Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at North Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Carl was born on January 3, 1942, in Mankato. He was the son of Burnett and Waneta (Sharp) Ahlstrom. Carl was a 1960 graduate of Mankato High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. Carl was united in marriage to Sandra Sexe on May 25, 1963, in Mankato. He was employed with Minnegasco for 34 years. Carl enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, painting, line dancing, being a disc jockey, and time spent with his family.

Carl is survived by his wife, Sandra; three sons, Lee (Carrie) Ahlstrom of Eau Clair, WI, Robert Ahlstrom of Mankato, and Jay (Kim) Ahlstrom of Winston-Salem, NC; nine grandchildren, David, Jonathan, Jessica, Benjamin, Amanda, Zachary, Shaine, Mariah, and Jayden; two great-grandchildren, Kiana and Cayden; one sister, Joyce (Eugene) Bruender of Eagle Lake; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Brian.
