John William "Jack" Broderick, age 93 of Mankato, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Keystone Communities.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. John Kunz and Fr. Robert Thorn (Jack's nephew) officiating. A private family burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the start of the service at the church. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Jack was born February 25, 1919 to John L. and Adelaide (Thiele) Broderick in Janesville, WI. He graduated from Janesville High School, then studied for two years at the University of Wisconsin Extension Center in Janesville, WI while he worked for Chevrolet Assembly Plant. On November 7, 1942, Jack was united in marriage to Grace M. Wilcox in Janesville, WI. Jack was a well-known Mankato businessman. He was District Sales Manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance from fall of 1959 until February 1, 1980 when he retired. As a Certified Life Underwriter, Jack continued to work as an independent insurance salesman after his retirement. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography. Jack was a member of Executive Branch, Field Veterans Association of MetLife and 4th degree Knights of Columbus of which he was Grand Knight.

John leaves behind his wife, Grace; five children: Connie (Sr. Marguerite, DC) of St. Louis, MO; Francis (Cindy) of Kasota; Mary (Mark) Kluck of Lakeville; Colleen (Terry) Tacheny of Mankato; and John C. Broderick of Evergreen, CO; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren: Gretchen, Kaleb, Kaylee, and Kaiden Hague of Cedar Rapids, IA; Jonathan Weatherwax of Cedar Rapids, IA; Donald Weatherwax of Cedar Rapids, IA; Adam (Niki), Rylan, and Benjamin Broderick of Red Wing; Andrew (Amber), Hailey, and Logan Broderick of Nicollet; Christa (Geoff), and Connor Weber of Crystal; Anthony Broderick of Mankato; Brian (Amy), Logan, and Gracie Kluck of Lakeville; Laura (Josh), Mallory, and Mason Wicks of Prior Lake; Joe (Andrea Haig) Tacheny of Mankato; Dan (Sabrina), and Jasmine Tacheny of Las Vegas, NV; Holly (Andy) Frame of Mendota Heights; Todd Tacheny of Mankato; sisters: Margaret Hoppenjan of Milwaukee, WI; Patricia Seefeldt and Therese Keegan, both of Janesville, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Weatherwax; brothers: Francis and Harold Joseph; sister, Rosemary Nichols; and grandson, David Broderick.

The Broderick family wishes to thank Hospice and the administration staff, nurses, aids, and dietary staff and all of Jack and Grace's friends at Keystone Communities for their loving support and care.
