Mable "Jimmy" Alvord, age 83, of Madison Lake, died on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2012 at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Eagle Lake Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Blue Earth County Humane Society.

Mable was born on August 1, 1928 in Billings, MT to Burt and Alice (Kilfoy) Hopple. She graduated from Billings High School in 1946. Mable was united in marriage to Merwin Alvord in Billings, MT. She worked at Sears for 40 years in various departments. Mable enjoyed gardening, mowing the lawn, fishing, dogs, and she especially loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Misty) Ommundson of Madison Lake; daughter, Pam Jackson of Billings, MT; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merwin in 2002 and two brothers, Frank in 2011 and Warren in 1987.
