On July 29, 1951, LaVern was united in marriage to Harold Burton Williams at St. John's Lutheran Church in St. Clair. They were blessed with five children. Once their children were in school, she worked at different places such as: Hubbard Mill, Beltone Hearing Aid, Honeymead, Zeno Glass, and FM Distributing. After working for GM Contracting for 16 years, LaVern finally retired. LaVern will always be remembered for her smile and the twinkle in her eye when she was up to playing harmless tricks. Everyone called her "Vernie."
