Eileen Mabel Roozen, age 79, of Lake Washington, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died peacefully at home, Wednesday, February 29, 2012.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marysburg, with Rev. Dennis Backer, officiating. Burial will be in Marysburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Tuesday. Memorials preferred to the donor's choice. .
Eileen was born November 23, 1932 to Thomas Francis and Mabel Rose (Kuntz) Murphy in Welcome, MN. She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School. Eileen was united in marriage to John R. Roozen on June 28, 1975, in Mankato. She was employed by Madsen's Grocery, Brett's Department Store for over 30+ years, and Herberger's for several years before retiring. Eileen was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the ladies circle. She volunteered for the MRCI Thrift Store. Eileen enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing with her grandkids, taking tons of pictures, collecting dolls, watching her favorite shows, especially One Life to Live, Dancing with the Stars, Bandwagon, and Lawrence Welk. Her family was her pride and joy, always taking the time to spoil her grandkids. She was a wonderful, kind, loving person who raised her girls with dignity and grace. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Eileen is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Nancy (David) Gosewisch of Good Thunder and Kim (Scott) Umhoefer of North Mankato; three step-children, Cynthia (Don) Gosch of North Mankato, Charles Roozen of Mankato, and Debra Woitas of Minnetonka; grandchildren, Dave (Jill) Kinney, Jennifer (Drew) Nerdahl, Brian Gosewisch, Danny, Bobby and Ryan Umhoefer, Angela (Eric) Casteel, Brooks (Kali) Gosch, Emily Gosch, Millicent Roozen, Kelly (PJ) Spielman, Sean and Charles Roozen, Bambi (Gary) Dubke, Nicole Enge, and many great-grandchildren; four siblings, Dolores Wingert, Thomas Patrick (Cora Ann) Murphy, Bernie Wilke, and Jean (Vic) Ruhland; brother-in-law Edward Staloch; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by daughter, Peggy Kinney; grandson, Nathan Kinney; son-in-law, Terry Kinney; grandson, Jonathan Woitas; and siblings, Veronica Sonnek, Marjorie Staloch, Lois Raaen, Ella Mae Embertson, Mary Goebel, Rita Garrey and James Murphy.
