Eva June Pestka, age 92 of Mankato, died Tuesday, February 29, 2012 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Paul Nolting officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Eva was born June 6, 1919 to Frank and Ida (Oehler) Menton in rural Mankato. In her early years she worked at Fisher Clothing Store and Brett's Department store both in Mankato. She married Robert Pestka on June 13, 1949 in Mankato. She also was proud of her life on the farm and continuing farming after her husband's death. Eva enjoyed sewing, making outfits and clothing for her family, painting, macram", and spending time with her family before she developed Alzheimer's disease. She will be missed.

Eva is survived by her son, Doug (Diane) Connor of Belvidere, IL; daughter, Karen (Les) Layton of Woodbury, MN; three grandchildren, Michelle (Bob) McGuire, Corrine (James) Wehrle, Annique Deneve; four great-grandchildren, Connor, McKenna, Chandler, and Ashton; one sister, Arline Phillips of Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; three brothers, Stanley, Glen, Wayne; two sisters, Ethel O'Connor, Vera Phillips.
