Neal A. Johnson, age 57, of North Mankato, died on Saturday, February 11, 2012 in Blue Earth, MN.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church with Rev. Jerry Lanes officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Neal was born on October 30, 1954 in Mankato to Arnold and Mae Johnson. He graduated from Nicollet High School. Neal was united in marriage to Mary Brown on November 17, 1979 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Neal was always active in 4-H and FFA. He was the star farmer one year. He truly enjoyed farming and field work. Neal also enjoyed having coffee with his friends.

He is survived by his two sons, Nathaniel (Jessie) of New Sweden and Michael of Blue Earth; two granddaughters, Daisy and Lilly of New Sweden; mother, Mae of New Sweden; sister, Rita Gibbs of St. Peter; brother, Alex (Diane) of Mankato; and nieces and nephew, Jenny (Jon) Halvorson of Kasson and their son Jakob, Josie (Matt) Lust of Mankato, and Bradley Gibbs of St. Peter. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, Arnold, and wife, Mary.
