Edith J. Corcoran, age 101, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Dr. Scott E. Olson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m., until the time of the 2:00 p.m. service all at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to Pathstone Living, Grace Lutheran Church or donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Edith J. Corcoran was born May 3, 1912 in Hibbing, Minnesota to Arvid and Augusta (Peterson) Anderson. She graduated from Hibbing High School. Edith was united in marriage to Paul Corcoran on March 29, 1935 in Hibbing. After moving to Mankato Paul and Edith started their business P.G. Corcoran Company. They ran the company their neon sign and electrical company until 1955 when they sold the sign business to M and M Sign and the electric to H and C Electric.
Edith was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Mankato Does where she a past president and was a member of TOPS. She was an avid Golfer and golfed until she was 85 years old. She enjoyed ceramics, baking, BINGO and time with her family.
Three sons, Dan (Mickey), Richard (Shirley), and John (Judy), all of Mankato; seven grandchildren, Cindy (David) Page, Pam (Dave) Coughlan, Susan (Mark) Solberg, Paul (Ruth) Corcoran, Robyn (Stephen) Wallner, Cristin (Ken) Robertson, Jason (Tammy) Corcoran; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband; her twin sister, Ethel and sister, Gladys.
